Fitting a school name list into a Class of 2026 or 2027 design is a high-stakes game of Tetris. Every student name is a unique block with a specific length. A long surname is a massive block that typically only fits in the widest sections of the year. Once the layout is built, changes are not simple edits—they affect the entire structure. Adding even a single name typically requires a full structural rebuild to make the pieces fit again.
Important: You must confirm your required name format and ordering (e.g. alphabetical, first name first, surname first) at the time of submission. If this is not specified, we will proceed based on the list provided. Requests to change ordering or format after the layout has been created require a full rebuild and are charged as a new design.

Schools often request name lists in alphabetical order for easy checking. However, you cannot have perfect alphabetical order and uniform visual alignment inside a complex shape like a number. Alphabetical ordering significantly increases the complexity of the layout because name lengths no longer flow naturally into the available space — they must be forced into position. While standard automated leavers software can struggle to achieve a clean look in shapes like a '6' or '5', our studio team manually adjusts tracking and kerning to help achieve a more visually uniform fill. We strategically place names into curves to help you achieve a clean EPS or PDF layout prepared for production (DTF, Screen Print, or Vinyl).

- ✓DO finalize the list: Please do not send the name list until the school has fully signed off. Adding even a single missed name later forces us to rearrange the entire structure and will incur an additional artwork charge.

- ✓DO send names in digital format: We require your list in Excel or Word CSV. This helps us accurately transfer names into the template while helping reduce the risk of introducing spelling errors during processing.
